Mark Feehily, a founding member of Westlife, has officially been given the green light by his doctors to rejoin the band on tour, much to the delight of fans worldwide. After a challenging few years marked by health complications and multiple surgeries, the beloved vocalist shared the emotional update on social media, confirming his long-awaited return for Westlife’s 25th anniversary shows at the Royal Albert Hall.
Feehily had been forced to step away from touring duties due to serious health issues that required hospitalization and a series of operations. His absence was deeply felt by fans and fellow band members alike, as he missed out on special moments during the band’s recent performances. However, in a heartfelt video posted to Instagram, Mark joyfully announced that his doctor has finally given him the all-clear to resume normal activities — including returning to the stage.
In the video, a visibly moved Mark said, “I’ve got great news — the doctor has said I can get back to normal! See you soon.” He followed up with an emotional caption that read: “Celebrate good times! Hey all, great news… I’ll be FLYING WITHOUT WINGS once more! Finally, the doctor has said that I can start getting myself back to normal.”
He went on to express gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his recovery, calling the past four years incredibly tough. Despite acknowledging that others face greater challenges, Mark reflected on how emotionally taxing it was to watch his band perform without him. “The hardest part wasn’t even being unwell — though that was no walk in the park. It was being forced to sit out, watching my own band tour the world, missing all those moments of joy with the lads and the fans.”
Mark also gave a heartfelt shoutout to his bandmates — Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, and Kian Egan — praising them for their support and understanding. As Westlife gears up to take the stage together again, fans are overjoyed to see the full lineup reunited. Mark’s return is not just a personal triumph, but a moment of celebration for the entire Westlife family, both on and off the stage.
