Following a successful inaugural event in 2024 at Castle Park, the festival will now be hosted at the Old Heath Recreation Ground. With three stages and 30 artists spread over the two-day festival, there’s something for every music lover.
Saturday’s event will cater to an adult audience, with performances from top DJs including Bushwacka!, Sammy Porter, and GW Harrison, running from 12 pm to 9:30 pm. Sunday’s family-friendly day will feature live bands, DJs, and will run from 12 pm until 7 pm. Boyzlife, a duo made up of Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and former Westlife member Brian McFadden, will headline the Sunday event, performing the greatest hits from both iconic boybands.
Boyzone, formed in 1993 by Louis Walsh, achieved massive success in the 1990s with six number one singles and six number one albums, including hits like No Matter What, Love Me For a Reason, and Picture of You. Westlife, which was also managed by Louis Walsh, made an indelible mark on the music world with 14 UK number one singles and eight number one albums, including classics like If I Let You Go, Uptown Girl, and My Love. Fans of both groups can expect a nostalgic journey through the best of both bands’ catalogs.
Councillor Michael Lilley from Old Heath and The Hythe ward shared his excitement about the festival, noting, “Any music event is fantastic, and it’s great to see stars like Westlife and Boyzone coming to Colchester. It’s a treat for those who grew up listening to them, and the festival has something for everyone to enjoy.”
