Shane Filan Reveals Why He Turn down Nicky Byrne’s Partnership Invitation Of Reality Tv

In a candid interview, former Westlife star Shane Filan made it clear that he has no intention of following in the footsteps of his bandmates by participating in reality television. The 36-year-old singer, who has enjoyed a successful solo career, expressed his passion for music and his preference to stay focused on his singing career rather than branch into the small screen.

Having seen fellow Westlife members Nicky Byrne compete on *Strictly Come Dancing* and Kian Egan crowned king of the jungle on *I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!*, Shane acknowledged their journeys but emphasized that reality TV isn’t for him. “I wouldn’t do it. It’s not something that I’d be interested in. I’ve been offered all those reality shows before, and personally I’d like to sing instead,” he told the *Herald*.

Filan humorously noted that the only reality show that might pique his interest would be one related to his passion for golf: “Maybe if there was a golf reality show, something like that I’d be into.” He shared that Kian’s long-standing desire to participate in *I’m A Celebrity* was commendable, saying, “Kian in the jungle, he had wanted to do that for seven or eight years. I wouldn’t even jump out of the plane.”

The *Me and the Moon* singer was speaking during the launch of the Cheerios Childline Breakfast Together initiative at Fire restaurant on Dawson Street. He also shared the exciting news that his second solo album, *Right Here*, had recently topped the Irish charts, further solidifying his success beyond his Westlife roots.

While Shane is known for his talent on stage, he was also thoughtful about the idea of performing on shows like *The X Factor*. Despite his desire to showcase his music, he conveyed a level of self-awareness, stating, “I’m not expecting it, to be honest. I think I’m a year or two shy of *X Factor*.”

Fans of Shane Filan can look forward to more music as he remains dedicated to his craft, unapologetically prioritizing his singing career over the temptations of reality television fame.
