RED BUD WAS HOT, BUT NOT AS HOT AS THE STAR YAMAHAS

RedBud MX is always a scorcher—on the track and off it. But this past weekend, the Michigan heat wasn’t the only thing blistering the competition. It was the Star Racing Yamahas that turned up the real heat, leaving their rivals sweating under the July sun and Yamaha’s relentless pace.

From the first gate drop, it was clear that the Monster Energy Star Yamaha squad had come to RedBud not just to race, but to dominate. In the 250 class, Haiden Deegan once again showed why he’s one of the sport’s hottest rising stars. His starts were on point, his corner speed unmatched, and his confidence on the rough Michigan soil was obvious. Deegan’s aggression made quick work of any early battles, and once he found clean air, he was gone—much to the delight of the RedBud faithful lining the fence.

But it wasn’t just Deegan putting the Star Yamaha colors up front. The team’s depth is their real weapon. Justin Cooper and Levi Kitchen were right there too, keeping the blue bikes firmly in podium contention all day. For every roosted tear-off tossed aside, another Star rider was ready to pounce, making it a nightmare for the competition.

In the 450 class, the Star Yamaha impact wasn’t quite as sweeping, but the signs of their progress were unmistakable. With a revamped bike and fresh energy in the camp, the team’s premier class riders managed to muscle their way into the top spots against the factory Hondas and KTMs. For the fans, it was proof that the blue bikes are becoming a threat across both classes—not just the 250s where they’ve built their reputation for years.

What makes this dominance even more impressive is the heat and humidity of RedBud in July. Riders struggled to manage energy and hydration, but the Star crew didn’t flinch. Their fitness programs, bike setups, and relentless pace showed why they’re the benchmark for many.

As the series rolls on, one thing’s for sure: RedBud was hot, but the Star Yamahas were hotter. If the rest of the paddock didn’t know before, they know now—when the gate drops, the blue bikes are coming, and they’re bringing the heat

with them.
