After years of speculation and fan anticipation, Madonna has officially confirmed the upcoming release of Veronica Electronica, a long-lost remix collection tied to her iconic 1998 album Ray of Light. Scheduled to drop on July 25, 2025, this long-awaited project brings fresh attention to one of the most celebrated eras in the Queen of Pop’s storied career.
The album is a curated set of rare and previously unreleased remixes that trace back to the Ray of Light sessions. Initially conceived as a remix companion to the original release, Veronica Electronica was shelved in the wake of Ray of Light’s enormous commercial success. That album went on to sell more than 16 million copies globally and earned Madonna four Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Album. The spotlight remained on Ray of Light and its chart-topping singles, leaving this creative remix venture tucked away for decades—until now.
Now, over 25 years later, Madonna is finally unveiling the full vision of Veronica Electronica. The eight-track album will be available both digitally and as a limited-edition silver vinyl release, in line with her Silver Collection—an ongoing series of collectible vinyl reissues celebrating her extensive and influential discography. Notably, fans who purchase the vinyl from her official site or Rhino.com will receive an exclusive silver mylar lithograph as part of the package.
The tracklist is a treasure trove for electronic music lovers and longtime Madonna fans alike. It includes newly edited versions of classic club remixes crafted by industry legends such as Peter Rauhofer, Sasha, BT, William Orbit, and Victor Calderone. There’s also a special treat in the form of the original demo version of “Gone, Gone, Gone,” a previously unheard track produced in collaboration with Rick Nowels. Leading the way for the release is the debut of “Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit),” which is already available to stream.
Veronica Electronica is not just a celebration of Madonna’s legacy—it’s a reminder of her ongoing influence and ability to reframe the past through a fresh artistic lens. This release promises to reintroduce fans to the ethereal, electronic textures that defined Ray of Light while offering new interpretations that stand strong on their own. It’s a long-overdue chapter that finally gets its moment in the spotlight.
