Matthew McConaughey is hitting the road this fall — and he’s bringing some serious star power with him. The Oscar-winning actor is embarking on a one-of-a-kind book tour to promote his upcoming release, Poems & Prayers, and joining him on select stops will be musical icons Jon Bon Jovi and John Mayer. Dubbed the Poems & Prayers Revival Tour, this event promises to offer far more than just a traditional author Q&A.
Kicking off in mid-September, the tour will blend live music, storytelling, spoken word, and open conversation. McConaughey is scheduled to appear at King’s Theatre in Brooklyn on September 16, where he’ll be joined by none other than Bon Jovi. Just a few days later, he’ll take the stage at LA’s Saban Theater on September 20 with John Mayer as his special guest. These performances aim to create a deeply immersive experience, weaving together music and reflection in a way only McConaughey could envision.
According to the official event site, the Revival Tour is built around the idea of “intimate, spontaneous and honest conversation.” Each stop is designed to foster moments of meaningful connection — both between McConaughey and his guests, and with the audience. Expect a fusion of poetry, music, and dialogue that taps into the human spirit. As the event description puts it, the tour intends to “hold a mirror to our souls to see if we recognize each other again.”
The lineup of guests is impressive, with additional appearances from rising country star Zach Bryan, Grammy-winning musician Jon Batiste, and Lukas Nelson, known both for his solo work and as the son of Willie Nelson. Together, they’ll join McConaughey in what’s shaping up to be a heartfelt and unpredictable journey across the country.
McConaughey’s book, Poems & Prayers, releases on September 16 — the same day as his Brooklyn tour stop. The collection is described as a mix of personal poetry and spiritual reflections, offering readers a candid look into McConaughey’s musings on life, faith, and the pursuit of dreams. With humor, honesty, and the help of his talented friends, this tour aims to bring those pages to life in a way that’s raw, real, and unforgettable.
