The TV personality, who once called Portland home, is at the center of a criminal investigation involving his now-estranged wife, Victoria Goodwin, who is accused of conspiring to have him killed.
According to reports from NBC News and other outlets, Victoria Goodwin was arrested on March 6 after police uncovered evidence suggesting she was involved in a murder-for-hire scheme. Investigators allege that she was romantically involved with a Florida inmate, Grant Amato, and that the two communicated through Facebook and text messages to plan the killing. The messages reportedly included details about Aaron’s filming schedule in California, as well as specific plans to carry out the act.
TMZ reports that Victoria allegedly earmarked over $11,000 in October to pay a hitman. Despite this, when questioned by police, she denied any intention to harm her husband, stating that the couple was simply experiencing marital difficulties. However, the evidence against her paints a far more sinister picture. On March 12, shortly after her arrest, Aaron officially filed for divorce in Clark County, Nevada.
Over the weekend, Aaron took to Instagram to express gratitude to his fans for their overwhelming support. “Thank you everyone for all the love and support through this emotionally trying time. It has really helped a lot and I appreciate you all,” he shared.
Goodwin has been a staple on Ghost Adventures since the series first premiered in 2008. Despite the personal turmoil, the show is set to return for a new season on April 16 on the Discovery Channel. The premiere will feature a special two-hour episode titled Poltergeist House Curse, delving into the legends surrounding the home used in the classic 1982 horror film.
